Hey! Let’s get to know each other.
Meet Jaclyn Zeal, M.S., MFT
I am a trauma-informed relationship therapist with an approach that’s both practical and soulful. I’m rooted in evidence-based practices & energetic, spiritual, here-and-now healing.
This journey of growth … I call it a reckoning.
If you’ve ever felt lost inside your own body, I see you. If you’ve ever felt bullied by your own mind, I am with you. If you’ve ever wondered how to trust yourself when your inner world is so chaotic, I hear you.
If you’ve wished your relationships were stronger, your brain was quieter, your body was safer, your “yeses” and “nos” were clearer — I acknowledge you fully.
I have walked these very roads. My own reckoning was initiated several years ago by a divorce, a 3,000-mile move, and a courageous step to finally learn how to love myself. What started as a crisis in my life resulted in completely new way of relating to myself and others — with presence, with tenderness, with clarity, and deep trust in my own body.
Let’s grow together
As a trauma-informed relationship therapist, I work with individuals and couples on a journey of becoming more present and attuned, repairing past wounds, developing trust (with themselves and their partners), and creating more depth in relationships.
In my work, I focus on relational wellbeing, inner child work, mindfulness & healing body image. I also specialize in sex therapy, religious trauma recovery, and developing spirituality through grounding embodiment practices.
The through-line of my work is learning to understand ourselves better — current you, and the younger versions that you carry with you.
My favorite way of facilitating deep inner work is through guided meditations. I stay attuned to my clients in session, noticing their breath, body language, etc., and I guide my clients through meditations tailored to their unique needs. Meditation allows us to slow down and tune in, often accessing parts of us that are below consciousness. Many of my clients report feeling “transported” during meditation experiences. This can be a beautiful opportunity to explore ourselves from a deeper, more spiritual standpoint.
Education + specialties
As a master’s level clinician, I received my degree through a rigorous Couples & Family Therapy program at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. I am currently pre-licensed, and practicing under supervision from Sarah Humphreys, LPC, CAADC, CCTP and Tracey Tanenbaum, M.Ed., LMFT. I have specialized training in sex therapy, aimed at helping couples navigate a variety of sexual challenges to create deeper intimacy. I also love working with women to reclaim sensory awareness and empowerment in their bodies. Since we all crave meaning in our lives, I also have a special interest in working with those who are seeking to develop spirituality, especially after leaving a religious belief system. My other interests include using nutrition, ritual, and cycle-tracking (for women) as a way to lead a nourishing, healing lifestyle.
I entered the field of therapy from a very intentional place after spending the first decade of my career in writing, design, and marketing. I lived a lot of life before deciding to dedicate myself to this work of healing and connection. While my training provided me with essential learnings and frameworks, I do believe that dedication to my own healing is a crucial aspect of my approach. I have endured grief and loss, difficult life transitions, family challenges and relationship endings. And I am committed to my own growth, especially cultivating joy! ✿
