MY SPECIALITIES
women’s issues • couples therapy • anxiety • self-esteem • life transitions • communication & relationship support
A glimpse into how I work:
My style is warm, nurturing, and honest. I create a foundation of trust and understanding with my clients. The therapy experience is dynamic; I don’t just nod and validate. Instead, I believe effective therapy requires being challenged, introduction to various resources, and learning new skills.
Individual Therapy for Women
Here are some challenges my clients experience:
Anxiety & depression: feeling lost, overwhelmed, cluttered mentally, unable to shut off the thinking mind
Self-criticism & body image issues: experiencing a harsh inner voice, feeling like you are VERY HARD on yourself, over-analyzing the past, fears of judgment, not feeling good enough
Relationship difficulties: challenges within a partnership or marriage, feeling unable to communicate effectively, difficulty expressing and holding boundaries
Religious trauma recovery: feelings of grief, loss, lack of meaning and hope after leaving a faith community; harmful experiences inside a faith community
Childhood trauma: experiences of neglect, abuse, harmful environments that have made it difficult to trust ourselves and others
Dating challenges & anxiety: struggling to navigate dating (especially in the online dating sphere), challenges with insecure attachment, difficulty finding partners who are on the same page and want the same thing, difficulty with trust and repeating old patterns.
I provide a space for discovery and healing so that you can develop a secure, solid, thriving sense of self.
I take a root-cause approach that blends:
relationship dynamics, attachment theory, and depth work with nervous system, somatic-focused sensing/feeling, and mindfulness.
Individual Therapy for Mamas
Here are some challenges my clients experience:
Trying to conceive (TTC): fertility struggles, grief/loss around miscarriage, relationship challenges around coping with a longer road to conception
Pregnancy & postpartum: common concerns include fear, anxiety, worry, coping with uncertainty, fear of how partnership will change,
Anxiety & worry: grappling with considerable worry during the conception journey, pregnancy and/or postpartum — difficulty getting out of thought loops
Relationship issues: challenges with communication, expectations, managing conflict, visions for the future, shared values, struggles with coparenting
Inner child struggles: the path to motherhood can bring up various wounds around how we were (or were not) nurtured
Body-image challenges: the body goes through massive changes in pregnancy and postpartum; many clients struggle with accepting and finding safety in the body
Isolation & loneliness: concerns or lived experience of feeling like an island, feeling unsupported, loss of identity, and feeling disconnected
I provide a space for discovery and healing so that you can develop a secure, solid, thriving sense of self.
Couples Therapy
I work with couples to heal from past wounds, strengthen communication, deepen intimacy — and develop the skillset to maintain a strong relationship.
The couples I work best with are interested in doing their own work. While it can be tempting to think our partner is “the problem,” — what’s most often accurate is that we co-create the issues in our relationships. We participate in the dynamics, informed by a slew of conscious and unconscious factors dating back to our youngest selves.
As Dr. Sue Johnson put it: “The drama of love is all about this hunger for safe emotional connection, a survival imperative we experience from the cradle to the grave.”
I approach this work with hopes of achieving 1) greater honesty and transparency on both sides and 2) increased empathy and understanding of each other. I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy, attachment theory, Gottman Couples Therapy and the work of Terry Real and Esther Perel.
Here’s how we get unstuck:
We go beneath the content of the issues and explore the unmet attachment needs, recognizing that we are wired for connection and we protest disconnection.
I specialize in helping couples:
communicate effectively • increase intimacy • learn how to collaborate as a team • heal past wounds • develop interdependence instead of codependence • advocate for their needs • establish more sincerity, vulnerability, and playfulness • tackle big life transitions • coparent with grace

FAQs
-
My current hours are as follows:
Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10am-4pm
Most of my clients see me weekly or biweekly, and we meet at the same time each week. I have limited floating appointments for those who have less predictable schedules.
-
At this time, I am only taking on clients who can meet virtually. I use Simple Practice as my platform, and it has a great HIPPAA-compliant and easy-to-use telehealth component.
-
In order to ensure we are a good fit, I start things off with a free 15-minute video consultation. During this consultation, we'll explore the goals of therapy and whether they align with my approach. It's important that we interview each other, as research shows that the "rightness of fit" of the therapeutic relationship has a huge impact on progress! Work with me.

Our clients pay directly for therapy services (our platform keeps your credit card on file, which makes it easy).
I accept all major credit cards and debit cards, plus HSA and FSA cards.
-
No, but many of my clients do seek insurance reimbursement since I am considered an out-of-network provider.
First, find out if you qualify for out-of-network benefits. If you do, our client portal automatically creates a superbill of the previous month’s invoices, which is what you will forward to your insurance company for reimbursement.
How to find out if you have out-of-network benefits:
Clients reach out directly to their insurance provider to find out if they have out-of-network benefits. You’ll call your insurance provider and ask the following questions:
• Do I have out-of-network benefits for mental or behavioral health with this policy?
• Do I have an out-of-network deductible?
• If yes:
• What is my out-of-network deductible?
• How much of my out-of-network deductible has been met?
• What is the start date of the calendar year my out-of-network policy is based on?
Ask the representative what percentage does the policy cover for the following services:
90791 - Intake Session
90834 - Individual psychotherapy
90847 - Couples Therapy
-
I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If clients cancel within that window, they are charged a full session fee.
Our client portal sends out appointment reminders 48 and 24 hours ahead of time, plus 15 minutes before appointments.
